''Carcan Kucing'' classifies various kinds of cats which make for good and bad pets based on the cat's physical properties such as the length of the tail and color of the fur. For example, a cat with black fur and curled tail is described as the best kind of cat that would bring happiness to its caretaker. The manuscript also briefly describes the behavior of cats that would bring good and bad fortune, for example a cat sleeping on the caretaker's ''destar'' or ''udĕng'' (Balinese headband) is considered a good omen. |

Carcan is a text that classifies various properties and kinds of a certain subject, usually with their symbolic meaning and effect on humans. Carcan Kucing classifies various kinds of cats which make for good and bad pets based on the cat's physical properties such as the length of the tail and color of the fur. For example, a cat with black fur and curled tail is described as the best kind of cat that would bring happiness to its caretaker. The manuscript also briefly describes the behavior of cats that would bring good and bad fortune, for example a cat sleeping on the caretaker's destar or udĕng (Balinese headband) is considered a good omen.
